Fashion and Function With Stylish and Hip Sunglasses

Fashion sunglasses offer eye protection; help improve vision and give the wearer a stylish look. Sunglasses are different than eye glasses since their only function is to help improve eye sight. Today due to celebrities and rock stars sunglasses are associated with fashion rather than function.

Sunglasses originated from the Roman emperor Nero, who watched gladiator fights through emeralds and rubies. Modern day sunglasses hit the scene in the 1940's when movie stars began wearing them. Today sunglasses are available in every imaginable color, frame and style.

The aviator is probably the most popular style of glasses. Aviator glasses have pear shaped lenses. They became popular when actors began wearing them in movies. Aviators are still just as popular today, even with the growing popularity of other styles of sunglasses, such as sports glasses, polarized shades, wraparound sunglasses and clip ons

Polarized sunglasses provide protection from the suns reflection on snow, water, sand and road surfaces. Polarization technology was first discovered by Edwin Land in 1936. People who wear prescription eye glasses prefer polarized sunglasses because this type of sunglasses offers style without sacrificing vision. People who are active in sports wear polarized sunglasses that are mirrored on the outside and reflect light. You can easily change your glasses by attaching on a pair of clip ons. Clip-on shades come in a variety of styles and colors also.

Celebrities have also jumped on the sunglasses bandwagon. Ivana Trump, Linda Evans and Sophia Loren are a few celebrities that have their own line of designer eyewear. There are also many brands of designer sunglasses such as Ray-Bans, Christian Dior, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana just to name a few, which are flooding the designer sunglass industry. These designer brands have also flooded the market with replica sunglasses of the designer sunglasses, since they look just like the originals, but they only cost a fraction of the expensive price.

So as you see sunglasses are not just for function, they are a very important fashion accessory. You can spot people wearing them on beaches, on the ski slopes, driving and just walking down the street. They can change the look of a person. So it is no wonder that purchasing a pair of cool shades requires just as much decision making as buying any other fashion item.

Seeing the World Through Designer Sunglasses - A Concise Guide to Fashion and Function

Ever since modern sunglasses were introduced by Sam Foster in 1929, it has become both an item of fashion and of function. Celebrities and common citizens, royals and subjects, rich and poor all wear them in various shapes and sizes, price and performance, color and charm.

Nowadays, designer sunglasses are the rage for its up-to-date fashion and state-of-the-art function. However, before you swipe that credit card and shell out that money, know these basics for choosing the perfect style for you.

Sunglasses for Your Facial Shape

In foresight, your bad fashion styles lead to the utterances of four-letter words starting with the letters "f" and "s" that have no business being read in respectable articles. (Well, maybe "What the hell was I thinking?" is a suitable substitute) This goes the same for designer sunglasses, too, particularly as it is perched on the most obvious and most naked part of your body.

Thus, you need to determine the perfect shape of sunglasses for your facial shape. The basic rules are generally that round faces look best in square and rectangular frames while square faces appear softer with round and oval frames. If you have an oval face, lucky you because you can wear sunglasses of just about any shape!

Of course, your face is not only about jaw lines. Your have to take into account your nose and your eyes in choosing the right designer sunglasses. In these areas, the best tips are usually that wide noses go best with rimless and metal frames, long noses appear shorter with plastic frames on a low bridge, and button noses deserve more exposure with high bridges and metal frames. If you have a skinny nose and an oval face, you will be the subject of envy because you can get away with anything! (Boo-hoo for the rest of humanity)

As to your eyes, dark designer sunglasses can hide eye bags, eye wrinkles, eye defects and emotions, not to mention, red puffy eyes from the late nights gained from looking extra-cool in your sunglasses and picking up more women (or men) than before.

That being said, be sure that your sunglasses are of the small variety when you have close-set eyes. When you are blessed (or cursed, depending on how you see it) with wide-set eyes, large sunglasses are for you. Lucky you because oversized designer sunglasses are all the rage now! Ever seen any model on a fashion magazine with small sunglasses? Nope, unless you are looking at sports magazines.

Colors Everywhere!

Fortunately for us mortals, designer sunglasses come in a colorful array ranging from the palest of reds to the darkest of blacks. You don't have to be stuck with the fashion faux pas of wearing dark sunglasses indoors when you can have pale-colored lenses or be the suffering mortal enduring the glare of mountain sunlight when you can wear the appropriate dark UV sunglasses. For every situation in life, you most certainly can find the perfect sunglasses to do the job of either protecting your eyes or projecting your image or both!

And did you know that color-tunable sunglasses are being developed? You can actually switch the colors of your sunglasses at the flip of a switch! Though the technology is still in its early stages of development with the colors switching only between dark blue and clear shades, you might just see sunglasses switching to more colors faster than you can blink your eye! One word - cool.

High-Tech Sunglasses

When something as beautiful as designer sunglasses become all the rage, you can expect technology to step in and take it one step further into the fashionably utilitarian multi-tasking level.

Oakley continues to develop its line of MP3 and Bluetooth-enabled designer sunglasses that allows you to listen to music and engage in hands-free talk while doing strenuous activities and protecting your windows to the soul. If developments like these come at a faster pace, you might live to see the day when sunglasses can perform superhuman feats. X-ray vision, mind reader, deadly laser weapon, seeing-eye for the blind, anyone?

When purchasing sunglasses, you have to ensure that you get value for your money. You are not only purchasing a product meant to perform the practical function of protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays and protecting secrets your windows to the soul can give away, you are also buying an item that can help you become fashionably poised. And believe me when I say that sunglasses can give you more confidence than you are actually feeling! After all, sunglasses represent badass attitude in more ways than one.

What Is The Definition of Fashion and Being Popular?

In this spring, still there are many handbags of different styles become the main popularities in the trends. Such as the bags restore of ancient ways in the design of handbags, the chain bags and stripped bags were designed by different designers. We could not choose one as the most popular one. What we can do is to choose the one that we love most.

The newly updated bags of Gucci were designed by restoring ancient ways for this spring. Versace chose romance and sweetness as their main theme while Matthew Williamson bags were design like diamond with luxury and elegance. All these popular handbags were designed with diverse styles and the tastes they showed were different, too. So how will you define the trends of the year 2011 for yourself?

Being fashionable is better than pursuing after fashion. Some people would think that if only you wear the clothes and take the accessories that others think to be fashionable, then you are popular. I think it is not right. What you wear and take as accessories is your own fashion and taste. If you love one of the fashion handbags or clothes just buy them for yourself but not for others' saying they are popular.

Being in the trend, we need to know clearly which style we were and fit us. And then we can choose the right to make up us being popular and in the trend. The most popular one is, in my opinion, the way and style you think are fashionable. You could wear what you think is cool and which could show your personalities and tastes. Fashion is different for different people. Just being what you want to be and wear what you think is fashionable. If you just pursue after what other people think is popular blindly, then you are not yourself, you are the other people's copy version.

We can take other people's suggestions to make us better. Before that we need to know if the suggestion is proper for us. If it was our taste, we could utilize the advices to beautify ourselves. Being popular is to show our own personalities and nature. What is the popularity, it depends on our understanding about fashion. Just being who we are and seek the trend in our own mind then we will be fashionable and popular. Ever one is different, so you are the unique and popular one of being who you are.

Women and Designer Shoes

Women are inherently fashionable whether they know it or not. They like to dress up and feel beautiful everyday. They are meticulous in terms the styles and brands of the products they want to wear. They love to shop for bags, dresses and even shoes. Sometimes, they don't care about the price tags. Women who can afford to buy branded shoes will not only buy those that are expensive but would always prefer to purchase from shops of famous designers who sell footwear we popularly know as designer shoes.

Designer shoes are those created by well- known designers who have made names for themselves because of the high quality and very fashionable shoes they produce. Although this type of footwear would sell for an ample amount of money, many women still patronize and adore them. Some of these famous names are Prada, Gucci, Ferragamo etc. These designer's shoes also offer a wide array of colors and designs to choose from which women like when shopping for footwear.

There are a lot of reasons why women prefer to buy designer shoes. Some say these fashion items give their self-confidence a boost. They feel more beautiful when wearing expensive footwear which they consider to be very good fashion investments. True enough, designer shoes are made from very high quality materials which are expected to last for years. Some women would say they feel comfortable when wearing famous brands. Others buy them because they stand for everything a woman wants - fashion, glamor, fun. Some women also say they feel a certain sense of superiority over those who wear unknown or cheap brands while others claim not wearing designer shoes makes them feel naked when they're out in the streets.

It is important for a woman to choose the right shoes to go with her outfit. When the shoes don't look good, the whole getup is affected. Because of this, women and beautiful shoes, especially designer shoes, are inseparable. Women would always seek something to fulfill their need for satisfaction. Dressing up and feeling good about oneself is one of the most gratifying rewards a woman would feel even if it will cost her an arm and a leg. Whether it's a piece of jewelry, a bag, an expensive dress or a pair of a designer's shoes, women should always be ready to spend a little more if they want to look a lot more fabulous.

Affordable Fashion and Style With Replica Sunglasses

Just because you are on tight budget does not mean that you can't have a taste of glamour and fashion in eyewear that movie stars and celebrities enjoy. Thanks to replica sunglasses, you can flaunt your personality and style without having to spend much.

Sunglasses are definitely in style in the fashion scene right now. Sunglasses have become more than just an eyewear to protect your eyes from the sun's glare and UV rays. They have become a fashion icon - something that flaunt your sense of style and make people take a second glance.

As in many other fields in fashion, the influence of celebrities plays a major role in the popularity of this piece of eyewear. Looking at paparazzi shots, red carpet launches, gala fests and award functions, the impact of sunglasses in establishing presence is undeniable. As you know, these celebrities usually have preferences for a few designer brands of eyewear - Dior, Oakley, Cartier, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Armani - you name it! These designer sunglasses are truly luxury items that set them apart from the average Joe and Jane.

But does this mean that you can't flaunt your sense of style because you can't afford these expensive, impractical items? Think again! Replica sunglasses are an excellent alternative to designer eyewear. With designer replica sunglasses, you can enjoy that same luxury without having to pay more than you can afford. You can be in and fashionable through a replica eyewear, which is just tenth of the price of the authentic one.

However, there is something very important to note about replica sunglasses and how it is different from a fake one. Fake sunglasses are those that exactly copy the logo of the original designer. However, replica sunglasses are not mistaken for fake and should never be considered fake because they contain no designer logos. Remember that what you want is the sense of style, fashion and glamour that this piece of item provides. It is not about sporting branded sunglasses or claiming that you can afford one.

Replica sunglasses now come in a wide range of variety. Whether you need a replica aviator sunglass worn by Angelina Jolie on Wanted, or one of Paris Hilton's white oversized sunnies, or that worn by Keanu Reeves in Matrix, you will surely find one that you want at a very affordable price.

Fashion and Editorial Work - Photographer Charles Martin Interview

Q: What constitutes an editorial shot or fashion?

For the purpose of this discussion, the terms "fashion" and "editorial" can be used interchangeably.  Fashion is about selling clothes and cosmetics and related things. It's about wearing clothes with an attitude. In fashion, anything goes.  It's a picture that makes people stop on a page and notice.

Q: Is there much fashion work in the Washington area?

A: Currently, big things are not going to happen fashionwise in the D.C. area to the extent they would in New York.  In New York, models might be seen by a big name advertiser who wants to put them in their fall line or use them to promote a new look.  That's probably not going to happen here, but it's certainly legitimate to do photographs here to market elsewhere.  Some local agencies handle fashion work or market to other areas.  Local fashion work doesn't pay as well as it would in large fashion centers.

Washington is, however, an international city.  I covered fashion shows when YSL was making its first time American showing of clothes initially shown in Paris here. Washington may not replace New York or Paris, but it may become a more pro editorial market.

In an article written about me in a book by GVpedia on fashion, there is a quote by Yves Saint Laurent, "Fashions fade, style is eternal."  Successful fashion designers and fashion photographers have a sense of style that transcends momentary trends in fashion.  One of my fashion shots used in that article is eleven years old.  It still holds up.

Fashion and Trendy Handbags are Now Affordable

Fashion and trendy handbags have come along way. Just what makes a fashion and trendy handbag? Is it the color, the styles, or the name. Frankly, it's a little of all this, and plus a lot more. There has to be functionality, fit, form, and practicality. Of course, a little bling and embellishments can do wonders too.

Take a look at some of the styles from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and others. Each has its own distinct flair that few have come close to. Some fashion and trendy handbags designers keep the classics in mind when they design their own styles, and some try unique and innovative designs to make their own name in the fashion industry.

Before looking into fashion and trendy handbags that can cost a small fortune, consider newer or smaller companies that feature designs that are affordable! Many new accessory companies feature similar styles as the more expensive ones, and can be considered as replicas. Other companies offer their own unique styles that are creative and found no where else. With the fashion industry always changing, it's not difficult to find a style that suits you, and is personal to your taste.

Jazzd is just one of these new companies, featuring fashion and trendy handbags that are affordable, most under eighty dollars. While the fashion shopper is ever looking for new styles and up to date trends, some have become budget conscious, and therefore seek an alternative to the fashion and trendy handbags that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. The next time you consider a designer bag and drool over pages in fashion magazines, consider a trendy affordable handbag from a newer designer.

Fashion And Interior Design Degrees For Creative-Minded Individuals

During our childhood, many of us dreamed of becoming super models...walking down the run way, wearing beautiful cloths while flash bulbs are exploding all around us and photographers are fighting to take our picture. Yet, there are some amongst us that would rather be designing the clothes instead of modeling them. Does this describe you? Have you always been intrigued by fashion trends, who designs them and how? Or, do you rearrange furniture and design the interior of rooms in your head, wishing you could actually do it in reality and make money while doing it?

The ability to create something from nothing, combining colors with materials in such a way that your artistic talents come to life and are recognized as unique has always been your dream. It is time to make it your reality. Now, it has become possible to obtain a degree in design through the internet by enrolling into an online program which would allow you to study at home and continue working in order to earn a paycheck.

There is a wide variety of specialty areas in the design world to choose from, and depending where your unique artistic talents take you, there are many online degree programs available through well known, respected institutions.

If fashion design is your desired career, you should know that there are many areas within this career that you might want to explore. Visual merchandise designers are responsible for creating window displays for department stores in order to spearhead marketing campaigns. Another is set designers, who work on movie sets in which they are able to create what the story calls for. These designers also work for trade shows or museums, inventing ways to display items or art pieces.

Of course, the clothing designer has the ability to show his/her unique clothing line and apparels. One can either work with other designers, or independently; however, this is a very competitive area within the fashion world.

Interior design is also a way in which to show your unique artistic talent by combining form with function. It is seen in many different settings including retail stores, residential homes, hotels, offices, and even in hospitals. The ability to achieve a balance with what clients want or imagine with your own unique signature can be challenging, but also very fulfilling.

As with most professions, the greater the education, the bigger the demand will be for your services, plus job security and advancement will be easier to achieve. An Associate's degree in design is a great place to start; however, it should be in your educational plan to advance onto the Bachelor's degree or even higher to a Master's degree.

A big difference between this type of occupation/career than that of other areas, is that it is always changing due to new ideas and concepts. Also, when society changes, so does the design industry, for example the avocado green color that was used throughout homes in the 1970's. Now, we identify that color with that era in our past, although, it may become popular again with the next generation. If a career in design is what you have always hoped for, now is the time to recognize that you can obtain the necessary education through an online degree program, such as a Bachelor's degree in fashion or design, to help insure your future success, so wait no further; enroll! If you are interested in the many online programs available,

Ladies Fashion Watch - Features and Designs Available

Because it is the nature of women to be fashionable, manufacturers of different products such as a ladies fashion watch made it a point to make their watches at the best technology yet enough to provide for the needs of their women buyers. And throughout the years, people can see how they maintain the fashion of women's watches and made it available in the market.

A ladies fashion watch function as an accessory for women more than its function of giving the time. This is the reason why the watches made for women look very different in terms of the material used for the strap as well as the size of the time piece itself.

Overall features of a ladies fashion watch

If you will compare the body frame of men and women, you will see that there are differences when it comes to the size and overall feature of their wrists. The wrists of guys seem to have stronger features and can be wider than the women. For women, their wrists are much delicate and even look fragile. This is the reason why the watches of women are smaller and narrower than the guys. That is in terms of the strap as well as the circumference of the clock face. So if you see a narrower type of watch, then you can say that it is made for women.

Ladies fashion watch straps

Just like other watches, ladies fashion watch straps can be different from each other. There are some that have narrow leather straps. They come in different colors that would match every fashion statement that they want to establish.

Aside from leather straps, metallic straps with silver or gold color are also available. These are the watches perfect for formal occasions. Depending on the ladies fashion watch strap style, they will match the formal gowns that they are wearing or their corporate outfit.

If you will look at some ladies fashion watches, you will see that there are some of them that appears to be bangles with a clock face. The reason for this is that the bangle-type straps can look very elegant for every formal event so this has also been utilized in the world of watch-making for women.

Of course, there are women who love to be sporty so there are also sporty watches suitable for them. These watches somehow look androgynous as they resemble the design of men's watches but are narrower in size. They can wear their favorite gym outfit or sweatshirts while jogging and know the time using these watches.

Since they have different manufacturers and design, it is just right to expect that these ladies fashion watches can have varying prices. But if they do want to buy them at a cheaper price, they can always compare the prices and get the ones that they need.

In conclusion, the features of a ladies fashion watch as well as design is by far different from other watches in the market. With this, they will have the right watch that can work as their accessories and timer-giver regardless of their fashion statement.

What is Ethical Fashion and Why is it Important?

Ethical Fashion represents the idea of adopting fashion, yet, following fashion in a way that has organic standards. These standards have fair trade in mind while buying and wearing fashion items. The principles of fair trade are about the workers who work on the fabric.

Cotton is one of the most frequently used fabrics in the decent fashion and organic clothes. Hence, the standards of Fair trade require fair compensation and wages for the growers of the cotton. It also requires that when trading the cotton, it is important to prevent children or women during the harvest of the crop.

The organic standards are watchful while growing cotton. The monitoring of the harvest is essential to them. They make sure not to use any chemicals and pesticides to prevent damaging the environment. Many designers and sellers now add green and organic clothes to their clothing lines.

Decent Fashion is a way of caring for your environment. It is protecting the rights of Mother Earth and the people who contribute in the preparation of wearable cloth. This is what makes Decent Fashion a considerably growing market. While it may not be very easy to find clothes that follow decent fashion, there are still several brands in the UK that are doing very well with their clothing lines that are designed considering the ethics related to fashion.

In the UK, 'Marks and Spencer' is a leading brand in clothing. They specialise in clothes of fair trade cotton. They have specific lines that are ethically fashioned. They are still working on making most of their clothing lines ethically fashionable in a few years' time.

Ethical Fashion plays a significant role in making the fashion industry socially and environmentally sustainable. Considering fashion industry as one, that is the most exploitative in the world, in terms of people as well as the environment.

Several brands are making clothes following ethical fashion. There are also other organisations promoting the concept of ethical fashion, hence proving the importance of the idea, ethical fashion serves multi purposes. The most important ideas are reduction in environmental damage, reduction in poverty, and a raise in the image and standards of the fashion industry.

Realising the importance and popularity of Ethical Fashion many brands have introduced special lines. The most notable among these brands are 'Howies', 'People Tree', 'Seasalt', 'Kuyichi', 'Patagonia', 'Timberland', 'Equop' and 'Little Green Radicals' are among others.

Fashion and Bags

The online world is full of fashionable bags and shoes. And the price! Oh, my, it's enough to drive you crazy. So, let us take a look at why it's top fashion to carry the right bags.

In the past, most women (read red carpet celebs) showed off their toned, svelte bodies that were neatly tucked into expensive dresses. Everything else - shoes, jewelry and handbags - were mere accessories that did not deserve more than a passing glance. But, all that was before expensive shoes, bags and accessories became high-end luxury items. These days, these seemingly trivial items have become important enough to become fashion statements in their own might. So, if you're wearing the wrong brand of shoes or carrying anything other than the latest IT bag, you'll be stamped as being a cheap-o! The time of fashionable accessories had truly arrived.

Everyone knows that high-end logo brands are created and designed with celebrities in mind. That is why they are insanely expensive. $3,000 for a mere bag may sound ludicrous, unless you move in a society where everyone is vying to purchase bags or shoes that cost even more. At that level, bags such as these are fashion statements. They are must-haves, and scrimping on these is simply not done, 'dah-lings'!

But, one must remember that the climate for big brand, high end fashion bags has just undergone a huge change, as has the demand for anything that does not justify its cost. It was all hunky dory till the economic downturn set in. Since then, the world economy has imploded, taking down with it many things that were being taken for granted. Millions are losing their jobs and thousands are witnessing their retirements shrink to the size of a shriveled up prune. Terms such as budget fashionistas are becoming the accepted norm. So, where does that leave the concept of fashion bags and designer wear? Pretty much in the lurch, as is witnessed by the booming market for the more affordable replica handbags and accessories.

People love fashion. They always will. But, for many, spending $1,800 on a bag or $2,000 on a perfume is offensive. Actually, most people no longer have that kind of spare cash. So, even a well designed bag from a popular brand like LV or Gucci languish on sales desks with no takers. Mind you, people would still be grabbing the replicas of these designs, which just goes to show that they still love the clean lines, cut, color and style quotient of the bag. In fact, they love just about everything except the cost. If they have to forego the original so they can afford an equally well made replica, then, for most people, this seems to be the most logical option.

Fashion can never be peeled away from accessories: the bags, shoes and jewelry you carry have a definite impact on your appearance. So, people who need to look good or desire to be appreciated for their looks have to keep swimming with the tide. However, that's not to say that they can't cut costs and go for alternatives that work out in the long term.

How Fashion Houses and Designers Can Use Websites

A quick search online will reveal that many of the major fashion houses not only have websites, but use them in creative ways. Fashion is an industry built on fantasy, to a great degree. Those fantasies are constructed in glossy magazines oriented to professionals in general (Vanity Fair) and to women who follow the trends (Elle). The online experience is a multidimensional tool to expand on designer fashions and the yearly line of products.

Gucci has a website that rivals some of the major car makers for quality, use of multimedia and focus. You can choose from sites oriented to several different continents. One of the intriguing features of the Gucci site is its frame-by-frame layout of their current ad campaign. The value of the advertising in keeping Gucci "current" is made evident by its prominence as a website feature.

Some fashion websites that you wouldn't expect to see doing it are retailing to the public directly from their websites. There's a corporate area for promotional materials and haute couture, and a retail section for deals on the latest products. Companies that engage in online retail include Dior, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein - not a great surprise - along with Versace; Armani; Giancarlo Ferre and Prada, companies that you wouldn't expect to see retailing on the web.

A well developed website can take the designs showcased in model photography and on the runways and present them in a manner that makes them much more accessible to women other than twenty-something anorexics. Visual tools can be used to rotate a dress, suit, jacket or pair of pants 360 degrees. Short video pieces can show a garment and provide voice-over describing its practicality, range of use, glamour or whatever factor the company wants to highlight.

Web searches on fashion turn up a large selection of generic fashion sites that gain their revenue from advertising. One of their principal content highlights is always a list of designer web sites. In one case, apparelsearch.com, the site lists fashion designers and design houses in three categories: website for corporate information, for retail opportunity, and for wholesale connections. That is valuable, down-to-the-rack-sale advertising for even the most well established houses. And it's free.

Fashion designers that cater to men, women and children can lay out their product lines for "the entire family" in one location - something that is difficult if not impossible using the magazine format. At best, the marketer would be buying ads in three different print genres. The web also allows fashion houses to segment in other ways. Click on Donna Karen and you'll find a web site that offers her accessory line up. Try DKNY and you'll find clothing.

Designers use the web in many functional mixtures. Fendi has an area for media inquiries that includes press releases and photos. It has an e-shopping area (U.S. only) for accessories. For the rest, there is a list of their boutiques in the United States. And there is an absolutely incomprehensible video with a maddening electronica overdub that will not stop repeating itself and drive you crazy, just like alongside the runway. Armani has a full-blown merchandising area, along with a list of its retail site in the country. You can order the items you don't need to try on, and find out where to try on the items that require a fitting check.

Woman Can Look Fashionable And Healthy With Evening Gowns for Plus Size Women

6:23 PM Posted by Fashion 0 comments
Evening gowns for plus size woman can be found at Nordstrom's,Neiman Marcus and other top retail stores. "Shop Plus" lady's wear is what Nordstrom's named their clothing line that fits women larger than a size 12. Nordstrom's is a national department store chain that offers first rate merchandise in addition to first class customer service.

Their line of clothing for the real woman is almost exclusively designer labels. Their "Shop Plus" fashion shop include not only basic working woman's clothes in the Plus size shop but also beautifully designed dresses from some of Fashion's best and most innovative fashion houses.

There is a stunner of a dress for plus size women on their website now.
The dress is designed by Adrianna Papell. The Plus Size section at Nordstrom's website have a large selection of absolutely wonderful evening gown for plus size women.

The first dress that was eye catching has a silvery glitter finish and is in a lavender color. The site calls it a party dress. I agree. Partying looks like what this dress does best. The dress is made for a fuller figure woman who wants to go out and have a good time at a party. The dress actually emphasizes all the right curves in all the right places.

More impressive is the Ribbon Dress (Plus) by the same designer. This dress is unusual in the design and the cut. The dress is in elegant silk that is crisscrossed with ribbons. The dress has two front slits that add a sexy edge to the dress and encourages the ebb and flow of the hem that reminds you of the motion of the ocean.

This dress is only available in black and white but has such presence that the lack of options may be a plus. The dress would be wonderful for a dinner date or a night on the town going to a play or to a smashing fun party.

Both of the dresses are priced under $200.00. The dresses flow just to the knee and may be considered more for an after five look. But depending on what the occasion requires, they would work to make any woman look elegant and very well put together.

The most appropriate dress by this designer that would be considered a true evening gown for plus size ladies was a marvelous cachet beaded dress with a sheer shawl that can cover the shoulders and the arms. This dress is appropriate and amazing for any formal occasion. The dress has a tonal beaded pattern of city lights on the bodice. The beads flow down the skirt of the dress.

The dress has a scoop neck which is very flattering for most women. Then there is this sheer shawl that adds coverage over the arms. The shawl adds to the drama of this gown. The dress is form-fitting at the bust which is covered in tiny beads. Then the dress becomes less fitted at the hips. Because of the way the dress fits, the website suggests that you order the next size up.

The entire collection by this designer is impressive. These dresses are available in sizes 12-24 and cost from $128.00 - under $200.00

Evening gowns for plus size women have come a long way. The top designers in the fashion world have started creating high end fashions for women that wear sizes over 12.

These high fashioned designsin plus sizes can finally be purchased at high end stores like Nordstrom's and Neiman Marcus. Being a plus size woman is finally acceptable. Finding a lovely plus size evening gown is no longer a problem.

Neiman Marcus calls their plus size line of designer fashions "Special Sizes" which is a kind of misnomer. The average sized woman in the United States is a size 14. So calling the average size woman a "Special Size" is a sort of clueless irony. We forgive them their trespasses because these clothes really do have a "wow" factor.

Well, the tyranny has passed. Women who eat can buy beautiful elegant evening gowns at almost any retail store from JC Penny's to Neiman's. Woman can look fashionable and healthy as they arrive beautifully attired at the most fashionable locations in their evening gowns for plus size women.

For more places to find evening gowns for plus size women try visiting http://www.fabulousplussizeclothing.com, a popular website that provides plus size fashion advice, tips and resources to include information on plus size swimwear, dresses, bras, prom dresses and maternity wear.

Fashion and Sustainable Design

With clothing design both fashion and function come together. In recent years there has also been a focus on sustainability in the fashion industry which goes way beyond just using organic cotton fabric instead of conventional cotton or manmade fabrics. Sustainable design is the term that is used to describe the philosophy of designing objects to comply with the principles of ecological, social and economic sustainability.

Whilst in some ways fashion contradicts sustainability because the very nature of following constantly changing trends and fashions can be wasteful and also create much waste, there are some ways that fashion and sustainability can go together. Designers are implementing exciting new initiatives to help reduce the impact of clothing on the environment whilst still making it beautiful to look at and functional to wear.

The most innovative designs turn the sustainable features of a piece of clothing into the very thing that makes it desirable, fashionable or stylish. An example of this is the beautiful fabrics that are recycled into new pieces of clothing. It is the vintage nature of the fabrics that make the clothing so beautiful. Recently Christopher Raeburn has used surplus military parachute silk to make very on trend pieces of clothing. There are also various designers pioneering methods to reduce waste in the fashion industry including innovative new pattern cutting techniques which give the garment a characteristic look.

The use of sustainable fabrics is also a key part of sustainable fashion design. There are a number of different sustainable fabrics to choose from each having its own unique look, feel and properties. Bamboo is super soft, warm and comfortable and has been likened to cashmere that drapes like silk; it is perfect for leisure wear and also for draping. Designers are also constantly coming up with new materials that look great and are also good for the environment. Innovative dying techniques and use of natural coloured fabrics have also been used to create beautiful designs.

Sustainability is not just about what the clothing is made of though. It is about the overall and lifecycle of the product. How long will it last and when it reaches the end of its life can it be easily disposed of? Biodegradable materials are key to reducing waste in the fashion industry but there are also more interesting projects happening for example where shoes can be deconstructed at the end of their useful life and some parts recycled. Any clothing, shoes or accessories can be made more sustainable by designing them to last and for maximum usage. This can include classic and versatile styles that won't go out of fashion quickly and multitasking pieces of clothing that can be worn in a number of different ways.

Sustainable design is not just about one factor or aspect of clothing that reduces the impact of a piece of clothing on the environment. It is about designing a piece of clothing that takes into account all aspects of the garment from design to sourcing of materials to sale of the product and beyond. In order to be truly sustainable designers also need to take into account social and economic factors. By embracing this philosophy whilst still ensuring beauty and functionality of the clothing, designers are helping to make the fashion industry more sustainable.

Designer Handbags: Fashion And Style Packed In

Designer handbagsor branded handbags have become the inseparable part of women's wardrobe. Most of the people are of the view that these fashion accessories came into being in the 20th century, which is half true. The concept of carrying handbags is centuries old, though the breed of fashionable designer bags indeed prospered in the last century.

As the ancient man felt the need of traveling from one place to another on foot, he required something to carry his belongings. It was the idea of men, and not women, to devise something like a bag. In the beginning, leaves and wood were the materials used for making bags that were carried in hand.

The concept of making handbags that could be hung from waist was most probably devised in Egypt. By the Middle Ages approached, handbags became equally popular among men and women. The bags used at that time were designed to be hung from the shoulders. During the 16th century, the bags made of leather and cloth came into existence.

The small sized branded handbags used today are inspired by the bags used in the 17th century. Embroidered handbags too were discovered to start the era of designer handbags. It was the time, when women started ruling the world of purses and men used them occasionally.

The smallest of the bags called pouches were immensely popular during that period. These purses were placed by women in the under pockets of the clothes they wore. However, the trend changed when the style of clothing for women changed. To meet the new requirements, reticules were discovered that would help the women to carry their fashion accessories. These purses were highly fashionable and matched the type of clothes women wore in that era.

With the beginning of the 20th century, the term 'handbag' became popular in use. For men, these handbags were the luggage bags that they would use to carry their clothes and other items while traveling. For women, the term handbags referred to the attractive fashion items that they would carry to social gatherings. Every thing, from cosmetics to sunglasses, occupied space in these bags that would now come with two or more compartments.

It was in the middle of the 20th century that different accessories and embellishments started getting added to the designer handbags. Zips, metal frames, mirrors and many such items became popular to enhance the looks of handbags. The branded handbags were all in rage, when the renowned brands like Hermes and Chanel started manufacturing bags in different styles.

The present time is the most exciting time for the admirers of fashionable designer handbags. One can find a number of popular brands who come up with innovated designs on regular basis. If you wish to start a handbag store, you can easily import the wonderful varieties of fashion bags form all parts of the world.

Designer handbags are popular as gift items as well. One can purchase these handbags on the occasions like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays and weddings. These fashion accessories have indeed come a long way to gain the status they enjoy today.

Where Did Designer Jeans and Designer Clothing Come From?

Designer clothing and designer jeans are manufactured by high-end fashion designers, high-street stores and independent designer boutiques. Designer Jeans and Designer Clothing are named such due to having been designed by a well-known designer or design team, rather than being generically designed by a tailor or seamstress. The history of designer clothing goes back many hundreds of years, but it was not until after the Second World War did it really become a mainstream interest. Whilst rebuilding its economy, France discovered a economic and cultural gold-mine with its new Paris fashion shows.

Modern day Fashion design could be attributed as to having been brought to life by Charles Frederick Worth. He was the one that introduced Haute Couture (and the subsequent international media interest) to the world through the Parisian fashion show. Haute Couture is the wild side of fashion, greatly inspired by Art and the natural world more than it is by practicality of the clothing and its wearable purpose from the perspective of the wearer. Many fashion designer will release haute couture at fashion shows to raise their personal profile and the profile of their standard garment collections. Many haute cotoure items will be sold for tens of thousands of dollars to affluent fashion collectors. Charles had sewn the label onto the garment.

With the world's attention now firmly on the fashion supernova that Paris can become, the new world of designer clothing had been reborn. Later on in the 40s, designer Eleanor Lambert decides that wants to divert some of the attention away from Paris and on to his hometown of New York Ciy. He creates and event called Press Week, at which he promotes his and his peers' fashion designs. This new event took off with as much furore as the Paris events, and 'Press Week' evolved to become to what is now known as the grand New York Fashion Week event. It was Eleanor Lambert that also established the best fashion list, a who's-who of the fashion industry.

Gabrielle Coco Chanel plays a role in the modern fashion, and is also responsible for bringing America designers into the spotlights. It was she that created the first wool jersey cardigan which became really popular amongst women. Chanel had a fashion boutique called Chanel Modes at 21 rue Cambon.

The first 'designer' jeans recorded are Levi's jeans. Levi's jeans are famous for the denim rivet. Take a look at any pair of jeans you have; you see those little metal studs or rings at certains points of the jeans, usually on and around the pockets? They're for keeping the material strong, and Levis created those! The Levi's brand logo feature two red horses, although its more iconic and recognizable branding is the 'Red Tab', a small piece of red clothing attached to the back pocket of all Levis jeans and on prominent location of other Levi's clothing.

Designer jeans rocketing rise to popularity occured during the 1970s and 1980s. New trends and styles in denim and jeans often originate in women's jeans and are then picked up by the guys. A good example of this is the Jordache brand of jeans from the 70s and 80s,one of the first mass-market designer brands. These were initially designed for women but a men's range was later released. Jordache's big appeal at the time was that it had created a low-rise, boot cut jean; the legs were slightly flared to fit large boots but the jeans sat neatly around the hips, rather than half-way up the torso. Other labels were slow to pick up on this and Jordache had a near monopoly over this style. Unfortunately, the Jordache over-stretched themselves through diversification and licensing and the brand ultimately disappeared from the public eye. Jordache still lives on, although only as a shadow of its former popularity; recently most of its revenue comes from manufacturing licensed denim and through its investments in other businesses.

Designer clothing and designer jeans had fairly humble introductions into the global market, although they now undoubtedly a concrete part of the global economy and the public's lifestyle. For many people, fashion is their life. Although a lot of the 'designer' clothing has been forlorn somewhat compared to its highs in the 90s, it is still very much at the forefront of high-street shopping. Multi-national department stores all carry collections from many designer clothing brands, and you'll be very hard pressed to find a city or town that does not have a good supply of Levi's and Wrangler jeans. Designer clothing has been around for a very long time and retains enough interest to ensure it will be around for a lot longer too.

Neutral Handbag - Fashionable and Popular by Men and Women

The handbag with ground color and tough quality, without too much accessories, is suitable for any kind of matching. Because of its neutral character, it becomes a kind of handbag for convenient matching, which makes it the necessity in wardrobe. The designer, Sun Yan, described the handbag trend of this month like this: "The neutral trend fashionable in 70s and 80s in last century comes to us again. The point is designers utilize the neutral element in the handbag design skillfully."

The handbags double functional for men and women use has an obvious characteristic. Most of them give you a fell of enough hardware, handsome, personal and cool. No matter they are pursuing the stars, or mad at fashion or just for the practical use of the handbag, more and more people are becoming the fans of the neutral handbag.

The fashion trend of the neutral handbag originates from the neutral trend of the dress. Seen from the models to the celebrity in fashion circle, feminine fashionistas use neutral dressing to show that they are handsome, wild and frank when they are showing the beauty of women. The masculine fashion is more severe. The designers are inserting the femininity to men's dressing, making the previous dress of men's style have the inner beauty. After a short separation from us, the neutral trend comes to us gorgeously in this spring.

Therefore, the suit for white-collar becomes fashion again. Meanwhile, the colorful dress of men style reappears on the stage. It is under such circumstance, the neutral handbag comes after. Many people dare not try the neutral dresses coming up in the fashion front. However, if it is changed to handbag, I believe most people are willing to bet the first of trying. It is also a try for fashion. Most of women play an important role in working career, which is also the reason for the fashion trend of the neutral handbag. Internal or abroad, the neutral handbag can be easily seen in the street.

The most important point of neutral handbag is with good-looking appearance and practical usage. The handbags coming up in spring and summer go two terminal routines. They are ultimate large or ultimate small. In the ended New York Fashion Week, the fashionable large bags, the quick seller for its large size and practical use, are substituted by luxurious brands. The proper design shows its neutral character. Take the Gucci handbags of men's style for instance. Their colors and patterns are eye-catching. Bright red color can easily be found in Gucci men's handbags. Various kinds of flowers in tropic rain forest become the design element of the designers. Green and yellow colors with spring and summer breath are the main colors of men's handbags in spring and summer seasons. The brand manager of Gucci said: "The colorful design supposed to be used in women's handbags is popular with the many cool men. A lot of members said our new products have become the unique belongs for joining parties.

The concept of gender mixing is becoming popular. The fashion wind of neutral handbags lasts from the autumn and winter in 2008 to the spring and summer in 2009. The handbags with gender mixing gradually stand out from the crowd, becoming the design focus of the luxurious brands in this season. The leather handbag touches soft with fashionable and casual taste of the noble. This kind of neutral handbag can be handsome for boys and sweet for girls. http://www.GiftHandbag.com

Every Woman's And Designer's High Fashion Fantasy

Haute couture is every woman's and designer's high fashion fantasy. Haute couture has to do with the most exquisite clothing created. In 1868, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture was created to enforce rules involving fabrics, numbers of employees, and numbers of designs for day and evening wear. By the mid-20th century, more than 100 haute couture houses competed earnestly for well-heeled clientele by following the stringent set of rules: sewing by hand, with employees who are French, in ateliers that are French, in France. They began somewhat unstylishly in the midst of a worldwide depression but ended as a dazzling and influential decade of haute couture.

Fashion

Fashion history is a rich area to explore. Fashion is a language which tells a story about the person who wears it. "Couture literally means "sewing," but has come to indicate the business of designing, creating, and selling custom-made, high fashion women's clothes. During fashion's "golden age," after World War II, some 15,000 women wore couture. Christian Lacroix embarked on a romantic journey through his fashion favorites, while jeans brought an attitude of rebellious practicality to Chanel's winter couture.

For more than a century, couture has been emblematic of the triumph of costume and fashion. It represents the fusion of fashion. The modern entity that combines novelty and synergy with personal and social needs and costume the arts of dressmaking, tailoring, and crafts constituent to apparel and accessories. Founded in the crucible of modernism's invention in the middle years of the nineteenth century in Paris, with the expanded patronage cultivated by the House of Worth, but still dependent upon the considerable support of Empress Eugénie, couture has long stood as the modern equilibrium between the garment as exquisite aggregate and the burgeoning notions of fashion as a system.

Collection

Each season, present a collection to the Paris press, comprising at least thirty-five runs with outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear. Every haute couture house also markets prêt-à-porter collections, which typically deliver a higher return on investment than their custom clothing. Many top designer fashion houses also use the word for some of their collections. Model garments from collections are sometimes out of the country being presented elsewhere. Some couture houses provide a video of the collection to serious purchasers. Socialites such as the Duchess of Windsor, Babe Paley, and Gloria Guiness would order whole collections at a time.

In the early years of the twentieth century, Paul Poiret took couture into an admittedly dangerous path of change, responding to Orientalist and social sirens, but even more to the beckoning of commerce and the use of the couture as a generating engine for fashion and fragrance broadly disseminated. This supposed fashion novelty was so successful in part because it knew acutely its history and reconvened the finest skills to the couture. It remains a discipline of ultimate imagination, unaccountable to cost, with the paradox of being the fashion most cognizant of its ideal clients.

Haute Couture - The Prestigious Front For French Creative Fashion And Original Design

Haute Couture is the prestigious front for French creative fashion and original design. Haute couture (French for "high sewing" or "high dressmaking"; refers to the creation of exclusive custom-fitted fashions. Haute Couture is a French phrase for high fashion.

Dior

Armour-clad medieval knights at Christian Dior led the fashion assault against critics of the rarefied world of Parisian haute couture at three days of spectacular shows for next autumn-winter. Ironically, the couture flourished in the postwar period, beginning with the immense popular appeal of Christian Dior's "New Look" in 1947. While French couturiers like Christian Dior and Jacques Fath were pairing down their couture designs and championing them as ready-to-wear garments for American department stores and New York boutiques alike, only Italian fashion artists understood the desperate need for more accessible, comfortable, and yet equally refined and tailored collections.

From dressing entire wedding parties (Dior), to outfitting the new European wave of female business power brokers (Armani Privé) to flying their personnel to the client for in-person fittings, where a five-dress-per-season order is considered the minimum to qualify for such elite customer service (at Valentino Couture...which has one client who orders a mind boggling 25 to 30 new dresses each season) - the Couture is enjoying a Renaissance. It was the height of refinement; it reached the summit of haute couture but was in no way the Dior spectacle of the previous evening at Versailles.

"Zemire," with its long Edwardian fitted jacket, is a splendid example of Dior's dream: recreating the grandeur of his mother's gentle fin de siècle elegance. It is natural that Dior should dominate the exhibition, which shows how the British designers adapted to the new direction taken by the French master, although Wilcox points out that French couturiers studied traditional British tailoring and used British fabrics. This anniversary also marks' Galliano his 10th year as Dior's creative director. The presentation also marked the 60th anniversary collection of Christian Dior.

Designer

The toile can be manipulated, marked and adjusted to fit a particular live model's measurements until the designer and his sale staffs are all satisfied. The final toile of a design idea is an accurate interpretation of the line or cut right down to the button placement or hemline that the designer is seeking. Once satisfied the designer instructs his staff to make up the garment in the selected and exclusive materials. Sometimes designers work for their own label and sometimes they work for a famous Haute Couture house. If a consumer can afford the bottle of perfume, the scarf, the designer boutique jewellery, the bag of the season, the couture named cosmetics or the ready to wear 'designer label' products they convince themselves they are as exclusive as the 1000 women and the supermodels who regularly wear Haute Couture model gowns.

Haute couture deals in millimeters-- everything is measured so that the fabric hangs correctly and follows the contours of the body perfectly without hugging it. Haute couture, which is French for "high dressmaking" isn't just about strange clothing on super thin models. Haute couture is that impossible fashion dream.
